Spring brings people out. Many clients can pop by together on Saturdays, so here is how it works.

Why Saturday

Weekdays suit plenty of people. But for many families, Saturday morning is the only time everyone can be in the same room at once: the parents who both work, the son who wants his mum to see it before anyone signs anything, and the day young kids can come along with mum or dad.

Monday to Friday we are open 9 to 5 pm at 104 Collins Street, Corrimal, and you can walk in. Saturdays are by appointment. We book it out one group at a time, so the place is yours, not shared with three other families.

The Half Hour

A typical sticky beak takes ten minutes, but a proper introduction is half an hour, and it is not a sales meeting.

A family walking through the kitchen and living area of the Corrimal display granny flat

You walk through a finished interior. Bench height, ceiling height, how much you can fit in a narrow room, what the shower feels like to stand in. You can't feel any of that online or read it on a floor plan. Most people come in thinking 60 square metres sounds small, and leave having quietly revised that. Standing in a finished space does something a drawing cannot.

Ask whatever you like while you're there. Nobody will follow you around with a clipboard.

Bring the Block

If you're coming to the display centre, the most useful thing you can bring is your granny flat build address.

  • Display centre bedroom
  • Display centre living room
  • Display centre kitchen

Looking at a backyard and site plan together at the display centre

We can pull up your site and talk through what actually decides a job: where a truck gets in, how much fall there is across the yard, where the sewer runs, and what the neighbours' windows look onto. A couple of backyard photos on your phone help more than you would think.

If you already know which design you like, say so. If you haven't looked yet, review the designs beforehand, or do it with us when you get here. Either is fine.

What People Ask

Mostly the same three things:

What it costs.

Whether their block will take one.

Once a design is chosen and costed (one month), we need to prepare the site, including approvals (two months), and then construction normally takes twelve weeks. We suggest you plan for at least a six-month process from your first enquiry to us handing you the keys to your new granny flat.

We will give you a straight answer to all three within a week of meeting, including whether the signs indicate that your block will be inexpensive or expensive to build on.

Booking Ahead

Saturday slots tend to go first, usually a week or two out.

Weekdays are easier and often available the same week.

We are at Corrimal most days. Come and have a look.
